Online Courses Prepare Students for the Future

More high school and college students than ever are taking advantage of the enhanced learning experiences and flexibility online learning provide. Keystone has offered online courses since 1999, and today online courses are available across all Keystone programs. Keystone Comprehensive offers online courses only, while Keystone Independent offers a choice between online and correspondence courses.

Why choose Keystone online courses for high school:

  • Enhanced learning experience through vivid graphics, games, and multimedia activities
  • Communications with our certified teachers using the tools in Keystone's online high school learning environment
  • Teachers grade assessments with 3 business days of submission

Keystone Comprehensive courses require students to participate in discussions with teachers and peers, while Keystone Independent online courses are designed so that students can complete them independently and rely on teachers primarily for evaluation, grading and to help in case they hit a roadblock.

Are online courses right for you? High school students choose online courses for their flexibility, ease of use, and engaging format. Students should be comfortable spending some, but not necessarily all their study time online.

Basics needed for online courses:

  • Minimum requirements for hardware and software.
  • A basic understanding and access to a computer and the Internet. Online courses require students to log-on with a user name and password, view and click on interactive content, navigate pages, and complete online forms.
  • A basic Internet connection of dial-up speed or greater.
